Prof. Raj Srinivasan
and co-workers win Best paper Award at
IEEE's INDIN Conference 2006
Prof. Rajagopalan
Srinivasan's paper "Data-driven soft sensor
approach for quality prediction in a
refinery process" (co-authored with S. Guru
& KM Leong of Singapore Refining Company and
D.Wang & J Liu of the Institute of Chemical
and Engineering Sciences) has won the Best
paper Award in IEEE's 4th International
Conference on Industrial Informatics (INDIN),
held in Singapore from 16-18 August 2006.
Their work was recognized for "bringing
a cutting-edge solution to a complex
industrial problem" under the
theme "Intelligent Performance Management".
The INDIN is an annual
IEEE conference that started in 2003. After
its inauguration in Banff (Canada, 2003) it
has traveled to Berlin (2004) and Perth
(2005) and is on its way to Vienna (2007).
Sponsored by the IEEE Industrial Electronics
society, INDIN enjoys tremendous
participation of academic and industrial
researchers from around the world. The
conference this year had over 200 papers in
40 sessions and 5 keynote lectures.
