Two iACE PhD students won Best Poster Awards in Convergence - 2004. In the poster competition held on Sep 10, 2004 as part of the Graduate Student Symposium, Mr. Ng Yew Seng received the First Prize for his poster "Software agent methodology for collaborative process supervision". Mr. Sudhakar Jonnalagadda was awarded the Third Prize for his poster "A new cluster validation method for gene expression data" .

The Graduate Student Symposium was jointly organized by the Graduate Students' Association of National University of Singapore's Department of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering and The American Institute of Chemical Engineers Singapore Section  and featured over 10 oral presentations and 50 posters. Dr. Keith Carpenter, Executive Director of the Institute of Chemical & Engineering Sciences delivered the keynote speech.
